Engure is our new love. Winding wooded and, compared to other small rivers, with a sufficiently high water level even in summer. Sometimes you have to come across an impassable obstacle, but it can just as well be passable, getting off the boat only at the Ugāle mill.
Although the route is not long and can be shortened, it is better to enjoy it without hurry and boat for two days, so that there is time for some photos and conversations by the fire, and at the end, there is enough strength to take a look at Lake Puze. Maybe even manage to play a round of golf at the riverside Usma Golf Club!
If you want to challenge yourself, you can go across Lake Puze, find where the Rinda river flows from it, along it to Irbe, and till the big sea!

Usually, we start at the bridge over Engure River - 57.220515, 22.093120. We leave the car in "Ozoldangas" and canoe for two days till the bridge over the river, 500m before the river enters Lake Puze - 57.314415, 21.982427.

Ozoldangas- Puze
The early part of the river is more civilized but no less interesting than its wilder other side. In our opinion, this is one of the small rivers in Latvia, which in its short flow offers an excellent variety of views and the diversity of nature.
